Terms of Service

By accessing or using Profylo at profylo.app (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Profylo (“we”, “us”, or “our”). You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service.

Profylo is an AI-powered career platform that helps users create ATS-optimised résumés, enhance professional content, analyse job match compatibility, generate cover letters, and access designer résumé templates. The Service includes all features, tools, and content accessible via a Profylo account.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at hello@profylo.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties without our written consent.
• One free account per person. Creating multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits is not permitted.

Profylo offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via Stripe, our payment processor.

• Billing cycle — your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• Cancellation — you may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
• Refunds — we do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review it.
• Price changes — we may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Taxes — prices are exclusive of applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), which will be added where required by law.

We may offer a free trial of paid features for a limited period. At the end of the trial, your account will revert to the free tier unless you have subscribed to a paid plan.

• Free trial eligibility is determined at our discretion and is limited to one trial per user.
• Features available during a trial may differ from the full paid plan.
• We reserve the right to modify or end free trial offers at any time.

You agree not to use Profylo to:

• Upload or generate résumé content that is false, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service using automated tools.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or access the underlying AI models or source code.
• Introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Resell, sublicense, or offer the Service as part of a competing product without our written consent.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our team.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

Many Profylo features — including bullet point enhancement, Job Match analysis, Cover Letter Studio, and Resume Roast — use large language models (LLMs) to generate or refine content.

• Review before use — AI-generated output may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or suggestions that do not reflect your actual experience. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all content before submitting it to employers.
• No guarantee of outcomes — Profylo does not guarantee that using our AI features will result in job interviews, offers, or any particular career outcome.
• Your data for AI — your resume text and job descriptions are processed by third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
• Accuracy — ATS compatibility scores and job match percentages are estimates based on algorithmic analysis, not guarantees of how any specific ATS will process your résumé.

Your content

You retain full ownership of all résumé content, uploaded files, and job descriptions you provide to Profylo. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your résumé.

Our content

The Profylo name, logo, application code, UI design, résumé templates, and all other original content created by us are owned by Profylo and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our proprietary content without written permission.

Feedback

If you submit suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

By you — you may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us — we may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide notice where reasonably practicable. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional career, legal, or financial advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Profylo and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including lost profits, missed job opportunities, or data loss — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) USD $50.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, either party may pursue their legal remedies.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before changes take effect.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
